New Hope Freewill Baptist Church offers a variety of ministries aimed at engaging the community and fostering spiritual growth. Our ministries provide opportunities for individuals and families to connect, learn, and serve together. We are dedicated to supporting and uplifting each other as we journey in faith.
DEACONS MINISTRY
The mission of the Deacon ministry is to assist the pastor of the church in fulfilling all the duties of pastoral care, including but limited to serving, equipping, encouraging, edifying, and monitoring the spiritual growth of all the members. A person is not made a deacon for the honor, although it is an honor. A deacon is set apart to serve.” As a deacon you must understand that you have not been elected to an “official board” to exercise authority in the life of the church. The office of deacon is not an office of authority but one of service. You are to be an example in spirit, love, devotion, and loyalty. Deacons serve as people who care.
MOTHERS MINISTRY
Church Mothers serve primarily a supportive, caretaking role for the pastor, young congregants, and church families. They are generally mature older women with many years of experience and service in the church. A Mother in the Church is expected to assist the pastor with various tasks, including ministering to the church's young congregants, providing representation during church activities. A Church Mother also prays for the pastor and communicates with the church deacons to ensure that he has everything he needs for ministry. Church Mothers set an example for younger congregants (especially women) in a number of ways. For example, they may dress in a certain way to demonstrate appropriately conservative Christian attire. Church Mothers also refrain from gossiping and idleness and aspire to Christ like character and actions in all circumstances
MINISTERIAL STAFF
(Ministers/Elders) The primary responsibilities of the minister/Elder are preaching and teaching. Ministers—men and women—are called by God to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, administer the sacraments, and care for the members of the congregation. They are to build up and equip the church for its ministry in the world. They are to assist the Pastor/serve as a partner. Elders/ministers hold an office of servanthood and service to the congregation. Elders should be above reproach, meaning they should be blameless in their personal and professional lives Elders should be hospitable and friendly to everyone. Elders should be self-controlled, upright, and holy.
TRUSTEE MINISTRY
The board of trustees is the governing body that represents the interest of the patrons of a church. Members of most trustee boards are elected by vote of the congregation. The board assumes responsibilities as well as assigning specific duties to individual members. Budgetary Duties TRUSTEE BOARDS MUST BE TITHERS. Trustee boards are typically in charge of budgetary matters within a church. The board defines a budget and appropriations at the beginning of each year and develops a uniform system to accept offerings and donations, pay bills and make purchases. All revenues and expenditures are documented by the board and evaluated periodically during trustee meetings. The trustees manage the church's finances by creating and monitoring the budget, overseeing financial reporting, safeguarding investments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and developing financial policies to ensure responsible stewardship of church funds; key duties include budget planning, financial reporting, fundraising, investment management, and bank reconciliation.

SUPPORT MINISTRY
The purpose of a pastor and wife ministry is to provide support to the pastor and wife, both spiritually, financially, and emotionally. The ministry's goal is to help the pastor and wife fulfill their calling and lead the congregation.
How does the ministry support the pastor?

Prayer: The ministry prays for the pastor and wife.

Financial support: The ministry may provide financial support to the pastor and wife.

Planning: The ministry plans events to show appreciation for the pastor and wife, such as their birthday or anniversary

Encouragement: The ministry provides words of encouragement to the pastor and his wife

Supplies: The ministry provides supplies for the pastor's office and pulpit

Hospitality: The ministry extends hospitality to visiting ministers and their families
